Ethernet Express is a service hosted on the Metro Ethernet (ME) network and will provide cost effective, high-speed connectivity between two customer sites or branches in a Metropolitan Area Network (MAN). The Ethernet Express service provides Layer 2 point-to-point connectivity between the customer’s sites over the ME network. Energia will supply the Terminal Connection Equipment (TCE) at each site which will be directly connected to the ME network via fibre. The TCE is supplied with a built-in GigE electrical and an optional optical interface. A 99.5% end-to-end Service Level Agreement (SLA) will apply on the bandwidth. Ethernet Express is managed reactively; Energia supplies and manages all TCE’s for the solution reactively. Bandwidth on the Metro Ethernet network is scalable in small increments and when a bandwidth upgrade is required, the increase can be easily provisioned via software configurations.
The Ethernet Express service will offer end-to-end bandwidth to the customers in the following ranges and multiples:
The ME network is Quality of Service (QOS) enabled and offers bandwidth Class of Service (COS) allocation that is scalable to the customer’s needs.
